Kuching

I have very "home" feel everytime I visit Kuching. I've been staying at Kuching during my school holidays at a place which I think is damn bored 10 years ago. After 10 years I re-visited the place and it's just so nice and different.

Most of you may just been to Kuching for a city tour and yet to discover other places as it may too far from town. Or have you tried other best local food?

There's a place which is an hour away from Kuching - Bau. It's near to the Wind Cave and Fairy Cave. If you like the caves, you should go and experience it. You can even bring your own equipment for the rock climbing. It's fun place if you like it.

It's also near to the Indonesia border where you can buy lots of cheap things at the border and it's well-known locally. Don't forget to buy the Bario rice as the well-known local product.

Food to eat: everyone is well-known about the Laksa. For non-muslim, you may try 'Kuey Chap', this is the only food you can find in Sarawak other than the Go Lok Mee. You should also try the fried kuey teow with tomato sauce, you can't find anywhere else other than Sarawak as well.

Next if you are little bit hungry, try the butter bun. It's tasty because the inner fill is so full and sure you will like it so much.

At night, you should go the restaurant namely The Junk or Bla Bla Bla. The environment is damn nice. It's called The Junk or Bla Bla Bla because the inner design is so unique. You can find different culture or different type of design in a restaurant. The food there is nice and big portion, so you might share 1 dish with 2 persons. I personally recommend the wild berries drink....errmm....tasty....

Of course East M'sia is famous with seafood, get someone local bring you to have seafood... you mustn't regret as the seafood there is fresh and cheaper.

Where you can buy souvenir? Just right those shops in front of the riverside.

Have you experience a ride of sampan? At the riverside there are few small little jetty that you can take a ride across the river to the opposite. A ride is only costing you 50 cents per person. By the way, if you give RM1, they will not find change for you unless you ask for it.

Opposite of it you can see other side of the riverview of Kuching Town. You will find it's different feel. You might take some food at the food court there. Variety choices of food. Hrm...personally yet to try... Let me know if you've tried it.

Oh ya! Not to forget the ABC or Cendol at Sadok. It's very famous serve these icy campur and other finger foods. It's nice as well. Take a local with you, sure they will know it...

Take different feel when you are at Kuching.
