Ayam Betutu Gilimanuk Bali

Have you tried Ayam Betutu? For those who had tried, what is your feeling? Feel so hot after having this? This is crazy to me of eating such hot & spicy food that was out of my mind. Ya right! You may think I'm don't really eat spicy food....well I admit that... :)

Those who can't take spicy food...my advice to you is DON'T TRY! Those who love spicy food... please find the local original restaurant to try this, it's worth!

Look at the pictures, it doesn't look spicy at all. I was thinking Ayam Betutu is just a normal food taste by looking at the sauce colour. The first try I don't really feel anything....tick tock! After few seconds, the spice..the heat...the whatever slowly attacking my every sense of my tongue and my stomach started will hot and burning.

Ayam betutu is the chicken that marinated with 30-40 chillies and now you can imagine how hot is this dish. I had taken a can of beer but not much help of cooling down my stomach. My face turned red, my stomach burning and took at least half hour to stable myself. OK! You can laugh at me...Hahaha....

After all...I've got the advice to taking hot milk...whisky....to cool down.... really makes me ROLF with tears! Good try!

Best Western Kuta Villa Bali

Best Western Kuta Villa Bali is located just few minutes away from the attractions center. I bet you won't have the chance to get hungry because there's whole stretch of restaurants available just by walking distance from the villa. Especially if you like to try the local food instead of tourist food, here is a good choice a place to stay.
The villa is attached with the private plunge pool. You want to get skinny dip?? Hehe...no problem. The standing shower is outdoor too but there's bath tub available in the bathroom. Which type of shower suit you the most? You get to choose which to relax you the most.

Room size is not big which is just nice for a single or couple travellers.You get to enjoy the swimming all time long with the pool bar available. Choose your breakfast meal facing the swimming and if there's any handsome guy or pretty girls there. Oooppss...I didn't see any for that early yet... *Sigh..... haha...

The entrance to the villa is not just like an electronice card sensor. They are using padlock! Aha! Yes, padlock your villa and the door is very classic traditional design. I like that and it's quite unique but I don't like when I came back during rainy days with full hands of things. :P

Staff are very friendly and almost every staff there remembered my name. Hrm....maybe I checked in when there's not many people or maybe I stayed too long...Haha...Whatever....free shuttle is available to Kuta attractions just few minutes if no traffic jam. Ya...island get traffic jam nowadays.... Jeezzzz!!!

Surfing Lesson at Kuta Beach

Woot wooo!!! Surfing - this activity has never come across to my mind as a part of my journey. But why??? because I don't know how to swim... Are you serious??? Do I look I'm kidding?

Then, what makes me? Errm... because I'm adventurous?? Maybe I just like to try new thing... I can say this is my greatest personal achievement in this trip even I still failed to stand up on the surf board. But I will try again next time....

The depth of the sea is about my chest level which I'm 5'6". So you measure yourself if you would like to take the challenge. For those surfers, this is a popular place in Bali. You can rent the surf board along the beach. For the first time surfers, I will recommend you to take your lesson at registered surf school. They have certified trainers that can teach you well and make you understand slowly if you don't really understand English. You have no worry of noone save you if you are drowning because there are always life guards at the beach.

There's bathroom and towel available here. You basically just need to bring your changing clothes, sunscreen lotion and personal belongings can be kept in local. Just free yourself and throwing into the sea...preferable time to start at 9am-10am.

I can say I truly enjoyed this even I failed to stand for once. I will make it up next time. Ho! Ho! Ho!

滑浪 - 一种对我来说从来不在我的旅程中会出现的活动，一个我以为我永远都不会碰的活动，在岜厘，我接触了它。。。因为。。。我不会游泳啦！

对于西方国家的人或喜欢水上活动的人来说，这只是小儿科，根本算不上什么挑战。但是对于一个完全不会游泳的我来说，挑战可大了。可是，这段小插曲让我体会了一些人生的事物，让我想在这里和大家分享。

挑战 - 对你来说是什么？我说是我没有信心和把握会完成的事。很多时候，有许多事情根本不曾出现在我们安排的行程里，或许我们知道那样东西的存在，却从没想过它会和我们有任何关系或根本不觉得会和它接触。因为，他们不在我们的计划内，又或者不在我们的范围、联想。。。或许说。。。试过这个我就死无遗憾了。

可是，原来世界还有许多我们没有尝试过的东西在等着我们去接触，只是，你有这个勇气吗？对于要自杀的人，我不知道他们是否有机会看到这篇文章。(你觉得我完全不了解你为什么要自杀？相信我，我小学的时候就想过千万遍要自杀和离家出走。放心！我现在很享受也很爱惜我的生命，而且要活得非常的丰盛和精彩！）我常想，生命是有非常艰苦的时候而令人想放弃、或许这个世界也没什么好眷恋、或许我都死无遗憾了、或许无力在走这路了、等等的可能。。。 但是，总会有一道路是可以走的，只是还没有走到而已。

就像我这次的冲浪活动，我从来不觉得这是一道我可以开的门，但，原来我开了这道门的后面，是一个这么难忘的经验。它。。。成为了我旅程的一部小插曲。别看我很爱玩，玩有时也是需要勇气的。你觉得我拿苦来受？不！我非常享受。。。虽然滑浪不算成功，却是非常值得尝试的挑战。你也许会爱上你不曾想要开的那道门！<3

Devdan Show, Nusa Dua Theatre

Devdan Show that performing at Nusa Dua Theatre is quite an awesome cultural show. I'm that kind of person doesn't like cultural show while travelling. First thing came to my mind is BORING!!! Unexpectedly, Devdan Show is an awesome show that I'm quite enjoyed with the performance.
The show presenting the local culture like Kecak Dance, Kite Festivals, Borneo Dancing Water, Batik Cloth and etc by the mixture dances like pole dance, hip hop dance, ballet, modern dance and etc. You will find the combination of the dances are so amazingly presenting the culture at the same time. This is what I think it so worth for a watch.

Look at the dancers.... they are so energetic and presenting their best every moment to the audiences. The show took 90 mins and start on 7pm every Mon, Wed, Fri & Sat. You can just walk in and buy the tickets. The best seat is not in front, choose the one at the middle so you can watch the full view from left to right.

Nuri's Pork Ribs Ubud, Bali

Nuri's Pork Ribs located at Ubud, Bali is the first opened store that offering Grill Pork Ribs. This is so famous and many tourists has come to Nuri's for yummy pork ribs. They have another Nuri's just few miles away which is towards the Mexican Western Restaurant. There's another new opening at Kuta area too.
Can you see from the pictures below there are 12 ribs in a set with the choice of having potatoes or rice. For me....I'm happy to have the pork ribs only and it's really filling the stomach. That would be good if you go by couple to share. The whole piece of pork ribs cost Rp 85,000 and I think this is comparable cheap.

They serve it hot right there and frill it in front of the store. The taste is little bit sweet marinated sauce. You can add in their sambal if you like spicy. I think the marinated time was not long enough or it doesn't cooked long enough, there's still little bit of the pork smell when having it. You might want to request them to grill little bit longer for you.

Ask your tour guide and he should know. If he's don't know, he's fired.... Hahahaha...jst kidding! Every Balinese people surely know this.

Bali, Indonesia

When I first heard about Bali, I have no idea where this place is. It sounds like Paris when you pronounce in Chinese. I went to Bali twice with my family and colleagues separately by chance of winning the Hard Rock Bali voucher back to year 2007. Yeah!!!

Day 1

Arrived Bali at the late evening and proceed to Kintamani for a night stay. We stayed at the resort that facing the volcano of Kintamani. This is the first time I’m so close to the volcano. It is so obvious that the volcano hill has two colors. Once side of it is shadow color which the lava slipped over it before and another side of it is green color with grass. Amazing!

Day 2

The first time in the morning when you walked out from the resort, the marketers will come to you selling you all kinds of the crafts and normally you can bargain at very low price if you are the first customer of the day. Then we went the hot spring by 4X4 jeep, wow! The weather is so nice and cooling. After lunch, we proceed to Lovina town- a coastal area on the northwestern side of Bali island. You can always see monkeys along the road everywhere.

Nothing much we can do at Lovina town as its very small town. So we decided to get the in room Balinese massage for the evening and watching the sunset with peaceful mind while waiting for the dinner time.

Day 3

We woke up early in the morning and went the sea with small wooden boat to watch dolphin. Watching dolphin is quite depends on your luck and we are quite lucky enough to see the dolphin dancing from far. The most interesting thing is a small little fish flew over our boat from one side to another. Looking at the sunrise at the center of the sea was truly beautiful. We can feel this is renewing and refreshing day.

Along the way to Kuta, we have passed through few attractions. We went to Bedugul & Bratan Lake, Taman Ayun Temple and Botanical Garden. The places are very nature with nice scenery and the special spot will be the temple at the center of the lake.

Day 4

Follow by the day will be the Uluwatu Temple, Tanah Lot Temple and shopping at Ubud. I think the common interest of the temples is their located near to the sea either at the center or high up to the hill. The surrounding areas attracted me very much because of the different nature. God is so amazing and wonderful by created such a nice world.

At night, comes to my favorite spot at Jimbaran Beach seafood dinner with sunset. I always enjoy the environment with dim light or beach feel or nature. The tables and chairs are set up on the beach. I always imagine this kind of romance having dinner with your love one facing the sea. Breeze, sunset, lovers, candle light…..so romantic!!!

Day 5

This is the day I go for my last shopping day. I have to shop with no care, no regret and grab whatever I want though I’m visiting again the coming month. Wonder why? My flight is at night! Na…na…na…na..na….

Bali - Indonesia

Bali - What is the first thing come to your mind when you heard Bali?
I like beautiful views and scenery, Bali is such a nice place to discover the beautiful scene and culture of Indonesia. See! After the Bali bombing incidents, there are still many tourist returning to this beautiful place.

There's distance within from one to another around an hour or more. So sleeping in the car is the right choice while traveling to the next attractions. Kintamani is a volcano in Bali and there are resorts nearby, so we stayed there a night. The weather is cooling at night and silent. You can feel the peace that is out from the city. The next day you can go to the hot spring nearby and look around the places around the volcano, you still can see the black land which is the lava. It's amazing that I was so close with a volcano and thinking what if it suddenly.....nah...dun think too much....

Lovina beach is a nice place to stay as well but nothing much you can do because it's a very small town nearby only. We have to woke up at 5 am and went to the sea center with a small wooden boat to see dolphin. We are lucky enough that day to have a look the real dolphins jumping around. Even the sight is far. It's so cute to see a small fish flying out from the water and cross by our boat.

Other places are famous that you can find it easily from the internet. However, I like their strawberries because it's big and cheap and little sweet. Not bad!

Of course I won't forget to go for a massage and shopping activities. Oh! Not forget about the Barung dance and Ket chak dance. I wasn't going to watch the dances because I heard some said there's real spirit with the dancers everytime they had the performance but I'm not sure how true it is. But if you don't feel it and like the culture dances, you should go for a watch.

The best time I like was having seafood dinner right at the beach and watching sunset. Sunset is always beautiful for me that I have no proper word to describe it's beauty. Same as Sunrise. This trip is so meaningful to have Sunrise at Lovina and Sunset at Jimbaran beach.

Sunrise is giving the world a new day and new hope, somehow we didn't realize it when we wake up everyday and rush for work. Sunset is telling the world it's time to rest from the day and this is the best time you should see me since you couldn't wake up so early. However, people always working till late at night and missing the beauty of the sun again.

Bali - a place to relax your mind, a place with desirable beauty of nature, a place of romance at the beach, a place for diving adventures, a place that you can really see the beauty of the mother nature......
