Yongduam Rock when translated to Mandarin is Rock of Dragon Head. See the second picture below, does the rock looks like dragon head? This Dragon Rock has another legend behind too. I will leave it to you to explore further, else, your tour guide might find you have known everything then he/she may just skipped to tell you the story which might more exciting than I do. :)

Mystery Road, Jeju Island

The Mystery Road in Jeju Island is really a mystery. I don't understand what is the mystery about this road before this. A taxi driver discovered this mystery road accidentally. There are total of 3 similar roads in this island.

A taxi driver was driving through this road and sorry.....he did not dissappear like ships in Bermuda, so no worry.... :D His car was broke down at the road. He went down the to check his car and the car was moving forward. Then, what's mystery about, this sounds normal.

The road is little bit of up hill. The car looks moving forward up the hill by itself and getting fast. But....why? How could a car moving by itself going up a slope? This is what the mystery road about. We get demonstrate by having our seat inside the bus, the driver shut the engine. We are truly moving forward up the slope and it getting fast too.

This is amazing! I never know there are such things to discover in this world. Well....I would try the Bermuda Triangle anyway to dissappear no where of this world!

Oedolgae, Jeju Island 将军石

Here we come another war time historical attraction - The Oedolgae. It means the stone of General. There are people said this stone has different looks from different view of it. This is a place that the army used to be as the base of war. Oh ya! Not to forget to mention this is where the drama series "大长今" (The Great Jang-Geum)  took place.

The strategy of Japan during the war time is once the Army General died, the rest of the force unit will dissolve and not to find against the enemy anymore. The Korea army will continue to fight till death even the General has dead.

The look of this General Stone looks like a man shape from the enemy's direction opposite this. During the war time, the Korea's General has dead and he asked not to announce to the public. This news must kep secret from the enemy because form their point of view, there's always the watcher at this side which what they saw is the standing stone.

By having this man's look stone, the enemy at the opposite will not act rashly and this has buy them more time which is favorable to them. Hope that you will meet a tour guide that could tell you in every details if you are a historical person. I just think that to understand the background of an attractions will makes you have more fun during the visit. So, please do appreciate if your tour guide is able to tell you all the history knowledge.

Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, Jeju Island

Cheonjiyeon Waterfall is located in a National Park. We usually need to walk for at least an hour to reach a waterfall. However, this is only 5 mins from the park's entrance. But I'm sorry that you can't swim here. I'm not sure why is this as part of the tourist attraction but it must be something interesting that I might not found it though.

After looking at the pictures I took, maybe there's a value of taking nice photo at this place. Not sure if you would agree with me? :P Maybe I was too excited or too tired to listen for tour guide's explaination. I'm sorry.... :P

Before the entrance to the park, there are many snacks to eat and buy. Try the BBQ squid, very nice! Oh.... how come my attention goes to food instead of the nice scenery? Sorry...I'm starving.... :D

Seopjikoji Jeju Island 涉支可地

For the Korean drama super fans, you might not want to miss this place - Seopjikoji where the "All in House" drama took place. The church was built for the drama shooting purpose. If you want to visit the internal design of the church, there's entrance fee applies. Due to the limited time, we didn't go in the church.

The other end of the pathway is the light house. Along the pathway on your right is the sea view with the black stones beach. If you want to know how's the sea woman looks like, you might saw them here.

You will see the newly built resort before the entrance. This resort is facing the sea and you won't believe how much does it cost for a night. But I can say it is truly expensive and you might want to wait till it's official launch.

It's nice place to relax somehow. Just the sun is too shine for the day!

Seongeup Village 城邑民俗村

If you want to know the olden days living culture of the Korean, Seongeup Village is a place that you would not want to miss. The staff are those volunteer who translate and tell you story about the olden days man and woman status. Let's learn some fun stuff before we begin. You will find it fun if you know the meaning in Mandarin.

Man = Wang (王) Ba Li - King. The man are served like a king in a family.
Woman = Neng (能)Ba Li - Can. The woman can do anything in a family.
Single Lady = Pi (皮)Ba Li
Little Boy = Tong(童) Ba Li - Kids in mandarin.

According to the interpretor, the man only do two things in the family which is eat and make love. The rest of the burden hold by the woman they call them "Sea Woman". The woman have to take care the man of the house for everything, doing housework, diving into the sea to collect seaweeds, taking care of the children. As such, the woman is living in a totally unfair ancient with no second say.

The house you saw below is made by the lava rock with the horse shit. You can't believe it? That's true. During the war time, if you cooking at the kitchen with smoke coming out from the house, you are definitely in danger as the enemy knows someone is there. These horse shits made house helps to let go the smoke through the tiny holes so the house doesn't filled with smoke.

The wooden gate will tell you the status of the family if there's any people available in the family. If you happend to saw there's 4 wooden sticks at the gate, this is a widow house. Attention to man! If you happened to go in this house, you will never come out from this house and you are belongs to the woman in the house forever. Think twice before you action.

I should let  staff to tell you more story about this village and you will find it very interesting!

Seongsan IIchulbong

Seongsan IIchulbong is the volcano at Jeju Island attracted many visitors a year. I have rushing time given to this place, else we can go up to the top of the hill for the view of the volcano crater. It will very beautiful scenery. Make sure you make up the time around an hour time.

There are so many tourists at this place and feel so crowded. However, it's a nice place for photographer because there are many angles that are you can take for different views. Just you have to find free space for a shots without people. Challenging for me! haha....

I really wish I could have went up the hills and see how's the volcano crater like. This volcano is still active and have not erupts for more than 200 years. Enjoy your view!!!

Jeju Orange Farm

Orange is the famous fruit that you can find easily in Jeju. One of the famous local product that you can find for souvenir is their orange flavour chocalate. The chocalate is shaped with "tu di gong" mold. You will find it cute.

The orange are still in green and yet to turn orange. So the farm isn't that nice too take photo as the farm is still greenery in view. Not much to see of this place but to buy Jeju local products as your bring home souvenir.
